must have access to a piano or keyboard in order to practice on a
regular basis. If the instrument being used is a keyboard or digital
piano, it is recommended that it be a full-size keyboard with 88

at home practice is essential to a student's progress and musical
enjoyment. Students are presented with new concepts and techniques
at their weekly lessons but it is during their practice times at home
that these skills are developed and reinforced. The instructor
generally recommends that beginners aim to practice at least 15-30
minutes, 4-5 days a week, and intermediate level students at least
45 minutes, 5 days a week. For very early beginners just starting
lessons, what is more important than the actual length of each
practice session is that the student practice the assignment several
times each session.
attendance should be treated as a priority in order to gain as much
knowledge and skill as possible. Students should make every effort
to be punctual as lesson time cannot be extended due to late arrival.
If a student needs to cancel a lesson, he or she must notify Piano

Each year students have the opportunity to perform in a
spring recital. Participation is optional but strongly encouraged as
it is an invaluable experience to perform in front of an audience.
There is no fee to participate in the recital.
