piano lessons are available year round. The school year runs from
September through June and is divided into a Fall and Spring
Semester. A flexible summer session is offered as well. Lessons are
held weekly in 30 minute sessions for beginners or 45 minute sessions
for intermediate students. Rolling registration throughout the year.
Completed registration form along with first month's tuition payment
are required prior to any lessons taking place.
studio follows the Quincy Public Schools calendar for holiday
closings and school vacations. Please note that lessons are
generally held on the Saturday before Winter, February, and

is a 10% discount off the lesson rate for a second child in a family
enrolled in lessons.
for the 2017-2018 school year covers 34 weeks of scheduled lessons
(17 per semester). It is paid monthly in advance and is divided
into 10 equal payments. Tuition is due at the first lesson of each
month. All payments are non-refundable. If tuition payment has not
been made by the beginning of the second lesson of the month, no
further lessons will be given until payment is received. Payment
methods include cash (exact tuition amount) or check payable to
Christine Fahey. There is a $32.50 fee for any returned checks.

must have access to a piano or keyboard in order to practice on a
regular basis. If the instrument being used is a keyboard or digital
piano, the studio recommends that it be a full-sized keyboard with 88
weighted, touch-sensitive keys so that it will more closely resemble
the “feel” and functionality of an acoustic piano.
at home practice is essential to a student's progress and musical
enjoyment. Students are presented with new concepts and techniques
at their weekly lessons but it is during their practice times at home
that these skills are developed and reinforced. The studio generally
recommends that beginners aim to practice at least 15-30 minutes, 4-5
days a week, and intermediate level students at least 30-45 minutes,
5 days a week. For very early beginners just starting lessons, what
is more important than the actual length of each practice session is
that the student practice the assignment several times each session.
year students have the opportunity to perform in the studio's annual
spring recital. Participation is optional but strongly encouraged as
it is an invaluable experience to perform in front of an audience.
There is no fee to participate in the recital.
attendance should be treated as a priority in order to gain as much
knowledge and skill as possible. Students should make every effort
to be punctual as lesson time cannot be extended due to late arrival.
Instructor will wait 10 minutes for a student to arrive after start
time after which the lesson will be forfeited without make-up.
payment reserves a weekly lesson time slot for the school year
(September-June). It is a flat rate and cannot be refunded or
lowered for lessons missed by the student. If a student needs to
cancel a lesson, please leave a message at (339) 788-2364, no less
than 24 hours in advance if possible. One make-up lesson will be
offered at the end of each semester (refer to the 2017-2018
Calendar for Make-up Lesson Days). No-Show lessons or
forfeited lessons due to late arrival do not qualify for a make-up
lesson. If a lesson needs to be canceled by the instructor, a credit
will be applied toward next month's tuition.
student who discontinues their lessons before the end of the school
year, will lose their reserved weekly time slot should they wish to
take lessons again in the future. It will also be at the
instructor's discretion whether or not to enroll them again as a
